Blog Stalk This
One of my besties, Morgan (aka Mo) has a new blog. Her humor makes me laugh out loud loudly. Check her out now: When Irish Eyes Are Smiling
Mo and I became friends years ago. Yes. I said years. We were on the same floor in the dorms and pledged the same sorority. We did some silly things. What?
Our Highlights Together Include:
1. Pie Eating Contest that led to puking in a neighboring sorority's front yard. Classy, I know.
2. Sneaking past a HS Senior Tour to get back into our dorm wearing last night's clothes.
3. $70 lobster on an all expense paid trip to Chicago via a boy.
Show Time & Jeans
If you're missing me, you must know that I'm at another trade show this week. This isn't my usual jaunt as the show is located in my home town. I have the opportunity to go home on my breaks. However, I shop instead. Yesterday, I bought 2 new pairs of jeans at a local boutique and I am in love with them. You must checkout Hudson and William Rast jeans. They fit like a glove and the best part...wait for it...they are soooo LONG! If you don't know, I am 5'10 with a 34 inch inseam. Cute jeans are hard to find.
More than that, I have struggled to find dress slacks that I like this season. If I find something that resembles any sort of cuteness they have a funky fit or saggy crotch on me. Not cool. Who wants a saggy crotch?! Fortunately, my profession allows me to wear jeans to work. I will be dressing them up hardcore, sporting my skirts(I love skirts), and rocking cute boots with my dresses.
Also, as I was headed home yesterday I stooped to get my eyebrows waxed. As I was leaving, a sorority sister from my college days walked in the door for a pedi. After leaving, I text my bestie Taylor, "There's nothing like running into old sorority sisters after getting your face ripped off!" She let me know that the sister was there to most likely do the very same thing. Ode to the voice of reason. Whether it's true or not, it made me feel better. Cheers to all our voices of reason!
P.S.
I really want to see the Facebook movie this weekend. Social Network? Anyone else going to see it?!

Weekend Fly By
This past weekend was a good time. Lee and I went landscape shopping Friday evening. We bought 2 bobble head type trees, lots of pansies(Theta Love), and yellow mums. I got all of my Fall decor out of the attic too. Our front porch looks like a freaking Fall Festival complete with a haystack, scarecrow, and pumpkins! Fall is my absolute favorite time of year. I love the warm colors, the trees changing colors, football, wearing layers, leaving the windows open at night...my list could go on and on and on and on...
Saturday, we had a slew of friends come over to watch the OU game and play games afterwards. Maybe 17 peeps. Brandon brought his dog, Shelby. Shelby and Cooper had fun chasing each other all night. Cooper got dressed up for the party too. I've attached his picture for your viewing pleasure. Taylor had her friend, Amanda, make Goo Bars. I have no idea how to make these rich little suckers, but they are soooo good. (Especially with a glass of milk as I discovered at breakfast yesterday morning.)
Sunday, I submitted my weekly homework assignments and did fabulous on my quiz. I'm anticipating my final. This will be my first final since undergrad and I'm abnormally nervous. I really want to do well.
I painted guestroom 2 gray while Lee cooked dinner last night. Phase 1 is out of the way and now I need to figure out what the heck Phase 2 will be. I really like the gray on the walls. No, I love them.

DIY
I think this would be cute in a kid's room. See the DIY tab for more info!
Sexy Veggies
Currently, I don't have the wall space for this, but this would be fabulous with my kitchen's green painted walls. One day. Yes, one day I will own this. This piece makes me laugh.
Savannah Purchase
I can't wait to show you this little guy I bought on Riverstreet in Savannah. I'm having it framed and it should be completed October 4th! I hope.
Here's a sneak peek. I snapped this as the lady helping me was getting ready to take it away.

Guestroom 2
I think I'm going to paint the room gray. I have a cream colored bed that I may paint white and my round, glass, red, and iron end table will be painted yellow. If I do then I will get Paula Prass' yellow chevron fabric to make curtains. I will then have reason to purchase the waterfall duvet from Urban! Also, I really want a place to put a horse. I'm just typing out loud...You should be envisioning something like this:

Pass or Purchase
I never win anything, but recently I won a $400 Nike driver via a door prize raffle for charity. I'm finding myself at more and more work related golf tournaments. Now is the time to decide how serious I want to get with this sport. One of my vendors is willing to let me trade it in and get a very steep discount on this:

Kaden
Our friends, Nick and Kristie, had their son's 6 month pictures taken. He's a doll. Don't you just want to squeeze those cheeks!
Put A Ring On It
New Ring. New Ring. La La La Laaaaaaa! The petals are peachy in color, but my iphone didn't quite catch that.

HOUSE TOUR-Study
It's not complete, but I have obviously been slacking in regards to completing our house tour. Also, I would like some help finding items to complete each room!
Before & After:
I'll place a nice reading chair in the corner by the file cabinet and I want to get a ghost chair for the desk. I removed the current chairs prior to taking this picture so you can get the "full monty." Currently, Lee's ugly black leather bachelor-like chair is being used for the reading chair and I use one of the breakfast room chairs at the desk.
When I turn on the lamp, this shade shows a cool pattern. Ya like? It's hard to tell, but the small square vase is one that was delivered to me with flowers during Lee' training last Summer. I'm not sure what I will put in it...This table is now my desk. I like to spread my papers out and make a big mess. You could call this desk vintage too. My parents bought it before I was born. Wait, that makes me old. Scratch the vintage comment.
I'm thinking about getting two more large baskets for the very top shelve. I would also like to get a cute Catus and an Orchid to place to the left of the zebra hat box. That box holds miscellaneous items. Scissors, tape, stapler, etc. The small wooden box house pencils, pens, markers, etc.
I still haven't placed pictures in the frames...but have you decided on a chair for me? Maybe this is my opportunity to buy THIS chair that I adore soooo much!
And here is a picture looking into the breakfast room...

Somone Else Likes It Too
The Way We Are made this post recently. Look familiar? I'm totally digging the use of the chair in this design!

Success
Our final total raised was $12,325 for RFKC.org on Monday! The golf tournament was a success and our customers had a great time.
I did fairly decent on my mid-term too. I've recently discovered that I am incredibly hard on myself and always think that I could have done much better. No really, it's disgusting. Working on that...
It's been a busy week thus far and I'm greatly appreciative to see that I have made it to Friday Eve. Lee had drill last weekend and we've barely seen each other since he's been home. His OCS training has him on Leadership every other month and when he's not assigned to a position he has to answer to one via email or phone within a certain period if time. On top of that; he has to study for tests, complete assignments, and distribute a monthly newsletter! (one weekend a month my a*$...) We're ALREADY and definitely looking to plan our next vacation soon. Ha!
Speaking of vacation, I have a ton to tell you about Savannah. First, you must know that you need to visit The Paris Market & Brocante near Riverstreet when you go. It's the most glorious store ever and packed with all sorts of treasures for your home. Take a cloth to wipe the drool from your chin when you go.

I'm Back
I'm back home and I have so much to share, but no time right now! I'm studying for a Mid-Term this weekend and gearing up to host my company's annual charity golf tournament on Monday. My to-do list is a mile long. First, I do need to share an adorable picture with you all. Taylor and Jacob welcomed our sweet Cooper into their home while we were gone. BIG thank you to our besties. Cooper and their boys (Golden Retrievers) had a ball chasing each other and spooning during nap time. Taylor said Butters often used Cooper as a little cotton pillow and all you could see was his little head sticking out from underneath. Here's a spooning pic:

Hotel Maison Moschino
This hotel has just been added to my list to visit: "...the prestigious hotel Maison Moschino recreates with an atmosphere which draws inspiration from the fairy tales, the typical ironic and surreal style of the brand Moschino.”

White After Labor Day
What's the real reason behind the raised eyebrows regarding white after Labor Day. It's a tough cookie to crack.
Originally, the rule was more a long the lines of "Only wear white shoes between Memorial Day and Labor Day." Furthermore, it mainly applied to white pumps or dress shoes. White tennis shoes and off-white boots seem exempt, as are any shoes worn by a winter bride. "Winter white" clothing (e.g., cream-colored wool) is acceptable between Labor Day and Memorial Day too.
The only logical reasoning I could find cited temperature; suggesting that because white reflects light and heat, wearing white would make you cooler in winter, and thus should be avoided. Some gurus suggest the rule stems from a class issue stating that in the late 19th century and the 1950s, more people were entering the middle classes. These nouveau-riche folks were unaware of the standards of high society, so they were given specific codified rules to follow in order to fit in, one of the rules being, no white after Labor Day.

Location is key too. According to my reading, it's often wondered if fashion in the American South can be a little more formal than elsewhere, perhaps the no-white-shoes rule came from south of the Mason-Dixon Line?
Whatever. Marilyn Monroe rocked white all the time! Happy Happy Labor Day!!!

180
I know these images contradict the loud splashes of glamour that I've posted recently, but I want this to be my house. Really. Anyone know where I can find the burlap-looking bedding? I love how it drags the ground...And I think I see a monogram. Wink. Wink.

It’s that time AGAIN! Savannah, here we come! Lee and I are flying to Atlanta today to see my cousin, Brittany, get married Friday and Saturday. Yes, she’s getting married x2. A traditional Indian “red” wedding will be held Friday and a Christian “white” wedding will be on Saturday. How cool is that?! I’ll post some pictures when I get a chance.
My parents, Lee and, I will be road tripping to Savannah. This will be Lee’s first Savannah encounter. I really hope he loves the town as much as I do because I have talked it up big.
Aren't these pictures A-mazing? I took them the last time I was in Savannah. Wednesday, September 1, 2010
Today is MY Friday
Time to pack. We're leaving for vacay Thursday morning. Since I'm packing, I thought I'd mention how much I would love to have a vintage Louis Vuitton trunk. Just one. Is that too much to ask?! Geez.
