Ordered
Guest room 2 is coming along nicely. Fresh paint on the walls, the night stand is now yellow and I ordered the fabric below only a few minutes ago. Checking things off THIS post one baby step at a time.

What up, Boo?
My pal, Kimberly, decorated an adorable pumpkin for her school's upcoming fundraiser. She's a kindergarten teacher. Can you imagine the patience?! Anyway, how cute is her pumpkin?!
My pal and new mommy, Kristie, is planning on dressing Kaden up as a lion. Rawr! Here's his costume!

Work Shmurk
It's Thursday Eve. This means that I get to fly home from Pittsburgh tomorrow. Whoot Whoot. I lack enthusiasm because this has been hell week for me. As soon as my plane landed and I drove away from Enterprise on Monday, I was in a 3 car accident. It was stop and go traffic and I was rear ended. The rear most vehicle, rear ended the middle vehicle, and caused that vehicle to be pushed into mine. Lucky, eh? My next course for grad school started on Monday. I predict muchO homework in my weekend's future since my book didn't arrive on my door step until Monday and long after I departed for Pitt.
Since Monday, nothing has worked into my favor. I am grumpy.

Burlap Find
In THIS post, I was obviously loving the burlap/linen bedding. Last night I found a less expensive alternative at Target. I don't have a place for this in my house, but someone should!

Praise
In the mist of my tornado-ing through the house cleaning and folding laundry, Lee asked that I pause a minute to watch this video with him. It's important to remember those that sacrifice and continue to sacrifice. Everyday.

Yes. I do my makeup sitting on the floor of my closet. The idea of decorating my closet is currently on my mind. My lipstick was MIA this morning or you would have an image of Chanel's Rouge Allure in Desirable. I keep that gem in my purse. I normally wear Ecriture De Chanel Liquid Eyeliner in Noir/Black. I hate the thickness of the Loreal I am using now. I have to use a Qtip to prepare the brush for application. The Chanel cosmetic counter closest to my house does a poor job at keeping their inventory stocked so I'm making the other work for now. I like to change up my makeup bag a lot. Right now this one is a bit small, but it is great for traveling. I have a complete set of Chanel makeup brushes, but these (#1, 2, 6, 7, 12, 16) seem to be most necessary when I'm in a hurry. I have a monster size basket full of shadow, lipsticks, and more underneath my bathroom counter. I tend to only carry the colors that I want to sport for the current season. What's in your bag???

Top 2 Tuesday
I discovered the undomestic momma through my pal Mo at When Irish Eyes are Smiling. Today is my very first time to participate in "top 2 tuesday" too!
The theme this week: Favorite Places in Your Home 1. Our Breakfast Nook
Casual dinners are frequent here. I enjoy the conversation that goes back and forth while I cook too.
This isn't our bedroom, but we do have the Farmhouse Collection from Pottery Barn. I don't have a recent pic to share right now, but I'll get you one soon! I love snuggling into this big bed to watch my favorite shows (previously recorded).
Framed
I gave you THIS sneak peek a few weeks ago. My Savannah purchase is newly framed and I'm loving the punch of color it blasts. It portrays the Garden of Good and Evil that is located in Savannah, GA.

Purse Personality
BFF Caroline found a Purse Personality Quiz online! Check her out HERE. I'm an Executive Bag. What are you????
Drill Weekend
Lee had drill this past weekend so I disappeared to the lake. My parents have successfully moved all of their stuff from the old lake house and into the new lake house. Mom saved the decorating for my visit. Whoot Whoot! We arranged and rearranged. I loved every minute. I bought this cute mirror on my lunch break last week to take to the lake house. Cute, huh?
We (Cooper & I) came home on Sunday. I scrambled to get groceries, a mani/pedi, wash the car, and beat Lee home to start a load of laundry. Success.
Continuing our new tradition, we went to our favorite pizza place on campus for dinner to catch up on the weekend's events. Later, we met up with BFF Jacob to watch a movie. We saw Life As We Know It. It was cute, but I would consider it a renter. We've seen Our Town and Social Network recently too and I would tell you to go see those opposed to renting. If you haven't noticed, we like movies.
Witness
This morning on the way to work I witnessed an accident. An unidentified silver truck changed lanes into a lane that was being controlled by another car. This car swerved to avoid being hit and lost control due to the road's wet roads from last night's rainfall. The car was sent off the shoulder and into a ditch until it came to a complete stop after hitting a fence post. The silver truck was long gone before the car stopped.
I pulled my own car to the shoulder and ran down the interstate in my dress and heels to make sure the driver was OK. It was young college student headed to class. My heart sank for her. She was hysterical, but only received a cut on her pinky. She had been blessed. Both airbags had deployed and her car appeared totaled. I waited for her mom and the HWY patrolman to arrive. Several men had stopped to assist. I didn't want her to wait alone with a creepy old man. You would have thought her blond hair was a stop sign.
(By my description, can you tell I used to investigate insurance fraud?)

Peekaboo
My Summer flowers are peeking through my Fall flowers!
The moneywort and geraniums were nonexistent when I potted the Fall flowers. Crazzzzy. These potted flowers flank each side of my garage.

Flu Shot
My company gave out flu shots today. I passed on the trend this year. I may regret this decision, but I hate shots. I just didn't feel like getting shot today.

Old Shirt = New Shirt
Last year I bought a shirt to wear with a super cute pencil skirt to Lee's OSUT Graduation in Fort Benning, GA. See pic below:
Well..since picking it up at the cleaners last year, I have not worn it since this graduation. The yarn flowers came back frizzy and I was devastated. Until, I read an article in Marie Claire that buttons, brooches, and other hardware are all the rage this year. We must add these items to last year's cardigans, sweaters, and Winter coats. Yes Ma'am! This is me trying to look inconspicuous while taking this picture in my office:
- How did I do this? I skedaddled to my local fabric store and picked up several gems. I took my seam ripper and took apart the current adornments. I then gathered my new hardware and strategically placed it here and there with the existing materials that were on the shirt previously-minus the frizzy yarn balls. (black lace, fabric rosettes and black tulle were still in tact) I then sewed them all on using black thread. Ta-da!
