After seeing this

young house love, the idea of having a yellow door consumed my thoughts. I initiated my search for the perfect yellow for our front door and blogged
this post.
Well…I finally did it with 1 coat of primer and 3 coats of yellow paint. A black drab-like front door for us is no longer displayed. The door is now bold and beautiful.
I left the inside and outside crease of the door black. The inside of the front door is white but I’ll show you that side later. I got the crease idea from an image I saw on ish and chi. Now I need to spruce up the rest of our front porch with something. I plan to spiff it up this weekend. Any ideas?

i think your yellow door is great! I am in to yellow these days too so i am going to forward your post to my husband and see if he will go for it!
Wow! I love it!!
I love the yellow- I had considered doing yellow myself, but think I am going to do red. Your door looks wonderful, and happy.
Glad you gals like it! I like red too, Laurie:)I was considering BRIGHT blue but I'm glad I chose yellow. Def a more fun approach to our front door space!
Erin! I love it. Was it hard? I've been wanting to paint the front door, but wasn't sure how to go about doing it. I thought I might have to take the door off to do it. Tell me exactly how you did it please!!!
Thanks Katie! It wasn't hard at all. First, remove all your hardware-even your peep hole. My peep hole was ugly-gross and I replaced it for ~$4 at Lowes. I took a piece of sandpaper and smoothed the peep hole area before priming. Next, Prime your door with a couple of coats if your door's original color is dark or black like mine was. If you're not painting your entire door (front & back) use painter's tape to mark your desired area. I like the wide width tape. Finally, paint away! Paint as many coats it takes to achieve the color you want. Once your door is completely dry, put your hardware back on and send me a pic pronto!
I love love love the color! Could you tell me brand of paint and color name? Thanks so much!
